Hi there and thank you for checking out my “about” page.
During my study in naval architecture, I soon realized that calculating on and designing ships wasn’t really my thing. I discovered that I really enjoyed the class in programming that we were given. This set the stage for a career in where I started working with software more and more.
In most of my jobs, I was able to convince my boss to let me build an application for some issue we had. That usually worked out great. When I got the opportunity to start working for a company that made software for shipbuilding, I knew I had found my place.
I taught myself C++, PHP, HMTL, CSS, as well as the rudiments of TCP/IP, network infrastructure and management. Later on I added C# to the mix. Great fun was had by all! Now I’m up to my ears in Blazor, RabbitMQ, ASP.NET and all that good stuff.
What I’m really good at? So glad you asked. I am very good at finding bugs. Some would say I’m also good at creating them but nobody listens to those people. I love rooting around in code in search of a subtle bug. The feeling when I finally locate it is ever better! I can quickly zoom in and isolate the problem area, even in unfamiliar code.
